Ingredients
  

Wintermelon Syrup

  • 2 cups wintermelon peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup water

Milk Tea

  • 1 cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 1/2 cup black tapioca pearls uncooked
  • optional ice cubes for serving
  • optional vanilla or cinnamon for extra flavor

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine cubed wintermelon, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  • Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the wintermelon becomes soft and translucent.
  • Strain the mixture to collect the syrup. Allow it to cool before use.
  • Cook tapioca pearls according to package instructions until chewy. Rinse with cold water and set aside.
  • In a glass, add 2–3 tablespoons of wintermelon syrup and pour in milk. Stir to combine.
  • Add cooked boba pearls and ice cubes if desired.
  • Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more syrup or milk as needed.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade bubble tea.

Notes

Use plant-based milk for a vegan version. Adjust sugar to control sweetness. Cooked boba is best consumed fresh for ideal texture. Store leftover syrup in the refrigerator for up to one week.
