Ingredients

Cake

  • 2 ripe bananas very ripe with brown spots
  • 2 cups sesame seeds white or black
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Peel the bananas and mash or blend until completely smooth.
  • Transfer the banana puree to a bowl and stir in the vanilla extract if using.
  • Add the sesame seeds gradually, mixing until a thick, cohesive batter forms.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan or shape into a round cake.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes, until set and lightly golden on the surface.
  • Remove from the oven and allow the cake to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use very ripe bananas for best sweetness and binding. Add sesame seeds gradually to control texture. The cake firms up as it cools, so avoid overbaking. White sesame seeds give a milder flavor, while black sesame seeds create a stronger, earthier taste.
